Jaguar Rescue Center

I rented a bike again to visit the Jaguar Rescue Center just outside of Puerto Viejo. There are actually no jaguars currently at the rescue center, but lots of monkeys, snakes & sloths. They also have a margay (wild jungle cat), an eagle, and a couple of owls. Most of the animals are brought in by locals who find them hurt or abandoned as babies. There are 2 scientists at the center, one is a herpetologist, hence all the snakes.

Afterwards I went to the tranquil Play a Uva for a long swim, then biked North again to Playa Cocles...Another great day at the beach
